Stuart doesn't use the room when David's not in the bar, not even for a catnap. If he's studying, he prefers the low hum of the bar proper, not to mention the convenience of instant tea and food when he wants it, sometimes even before he realizes he wants it.

When David is there, Stuart doesn't intend to do any studying, anyway. He's capable of choosing education over sex, but he prefers not to.

He takes off the satchel (heavy with books--he will study while he's here, just not now) and says as he sits on the bed to untie his shoes, "What were all the scripts for, anyway? Choosing an audition monologue?"

The tips of David's ears are bright pink. "It was...I don't even remember what we were talking about. But I thought it might be...interesting."

"I suppose, but...I don't even know how you do it, really. I'd worry about hurting you. I want to give you what you want, but are you even sure this is something you want?"

"I've been reading a bit about it actually. We could just start with something simple. And if...I don't like it, then we can stop. Or if you don't."

Stuart nods, his expression solemn, and then smiles wryly. "You keep surprising me."

David laughs a bit sheepishly. "Sorry?"

"Just, of all the things I thought I'd hear you say, 'tie me up' is not one of them."

"Is it really so strange?"

"Not strange, just unexpected."

"What did you think I was going to suggest?"

"I don't know. Whipped cream?

"David, I'm not mocking you. I'm just getting used to the idea."

"I know. I just...wanted to know.

"I suppose we could try whipped cream if you'd like..."

Stuart lays his hand over his eyes and laughs.

David pokes his side. "What?"

"I love you," Stuart says when he can speak, smiling at David. "I love you a lot."

"And that's funny, is it?" David asks with a smirk.

"That's joyful laughter, you git."

"Because of the cream?"

"Because of everything. Because I feel good and I love you and you trust me. Why not laugh?" He nudges David's foot with his own. "Don't be hurt. It's a good thing. I feel good."
